The distinctive scent of ancient forests, the gurgling of glacial streams, the glow of an alpine sunrise, underpins 4478 Gin.
TASTE
The distillation of 4478 Gin is inspired by the Alpine nature.
The primary signature botanical being the pink and juicy fruit of the Arven tree known as the ‘King of the Alps’. This iconic tree, graces the Zermatt landscape next to the Matterhorn and the glaciers.
Its pink and juicy cones are collected before they become woody. The harvest is dangerous as they mainly grow on the top crown of the tree. In the old days locals used to eat the pine nuts inside the cones as a snack. The Arven tree grows over 1300 meters altitude and live for hundreds of years.

Crafted with the Istil, a 21st Century method of distillation. This ingenious technology helps us to achieve a exquisitely smooth finish at 43% abv. 4478 Gin is also unfiltered on the theory that filtration strips away flavour.
Filtering is simply not necessary and would reduce the content of essential oils we have painstakingly distilled.
